About Beth

Beth is an impassioned gardener who has been invaluable in helping to build a peace garden in loving memory of a student who sadly passed away. Putting in extra hours after school, Beth has worked in all weathers to help keep the project to schedule. She has also been instrumental in gathering equipment for the garden by borrowing from others, contacting local companies and even carrying her own tools across town!

Judges' comments

“Beth has a solid horticultural understanding, and her knowledge is diverse. I loved seeing how hard she works, and that she really takes the initiative and has made school gardening much more important at her school.”

"She's got such a huge amount of apssion and dedicaiton for gardening at her school. The fact that she has used her own initiative to obtain resources and funding for the garden project is amazing to see."

"It's inspiring to see how Beth encourages her fellow pupils to help in garden."
