RHS Young School Gardener of the Year 2017
Supported by Gabriel Ash
10 years old from Dairsie Primary School, Fife
Overall winner of RHS Young School Gardener of the Year and KS2/P3-6 Winner
Previously suffering from anger issues, Fraser has developed a love for the outdoors and shown a huge commitment to the school garden, enthusiastically growing a range of fruit and veg. As well as working hard in the school garden, he has also approached members of the community including a local nursery to get everyone involved in growing.
“Fraser is a knowledgeable and inspirational young man, who has not only used gardening to improve his own behaviour, but has put endless energy into getting involved in community horticulture locally as well. How wonderful to see what a difference gardening has made to his life.”
"Fraser shows a great pride in what he and the school have achieved through gardening. He's a complete natural in mentoring young pupils and passing on his skills. Overall, he is a fantastic school gardener."
"Such a confident and knowledgeable young man! You really get a sense of his dedication to gardening in his school and local community."
