Achievement checklist

To achieve this level, you should be able to answer yes to the following statements:

  • Our Leadership Team or local community support our gardening project
  • We have built on our practical skills and can prepare areas ready for planting
  • We grow a simple range of fruits, vegetables and flowers
  • We encourage wildlife to the garden by providing homes and habitats
  • We re-use as many things as we can and understand composting

Reward for this level

Groups/schools will receive a £50 National Garden Gift voucher and we’ll also send you a Level 3 certificate to display.

Home educators and childminders will receive the certificate and £10 National Garden Gift voucher. 

How to achieve this level

Simply write around 200 words about a mini project or activity in the garden, based on healthy eating, wildlife in the garden, composting and recycling, or exploring a curriculum topic through the garden.

You should also upload four photos to illustrate your project or activity.
