RHS Young School Gardener of the Year 2016

Rosanna Wright
9 years old from Little Kingshill Combined School, Great Missenden
KS2/P3-6 Finalist

About Rosanna

Rosanna has been an enthusiastic member of the school’s Eco Club for a number of years and enjoys learning about the different ways to plant, including sowing seeds and taking cuttings. After discovering that a crisp packet had not decomposed even after 10 years, Rosanna is now on a mission to campaign for crisps to be packaged in recyclable materials. She is an inspiring young lady.

Judges' comments

“Rosanna is a very confident girl and a wonderful speaker, campaigning to make the world a greener place. I have no doubt that she has a bright future ahead of her as an environmental ambassador or even Prime Minister!”

“If there was an eco-warrior award, she would have won it! Her passion is wonderful and she is certainly a force to be reckoned with. I can’t wait to hear how she gets on with her battle to make crisp packets recyclable.”

“Rosanna has some great knowledge, following plants from seed to harvest, and she shares her knowledge with others. She is a natural leader and a kind mentor.”
