About Imani

Even without a garden at home, Imani is one of the most enthusiastic, organised and inquisitive gardeners at school. She is incredibly reliable and is never squeamish or put off by something new. Everyone at the school comments how much they like Imani coming to Gardening Club and she can even be trusted to help supervise the younger children.

Judges' comments

“Despite not having a garden at home, Imani shows such brilliant enthusiasm and willing to learn. She offers hope to lots of children without a garden and is proof that you can still garden in an urban setting.”

“Imani is still fairly new to gardening but her attitude towards it is fantastic. She has clearly grasped the importance of insects and worms and is on a good learning curve.”

“Imani is gardening against the odds, growing plants in pots on her balcony where she can. She has also picked up on the importance of healthy eating and is even encouraging her family to think more about what they eat.”
