About Albert

Come rain or shine, Albert and his proud gardening club members work hard in the garden every Monday afternoon to weed the bed, fill the pots and water the plants. Albert has helped the children to find a sense of independence and confidence while building new friendships with others. Albert is incredibly dedicated to the school garden, ensuring the plants are watered over the holidays and even purchasing new features from his own money.

Judges' comments

“Albert is such an inspiration. Despite coming into gardening later in life, he really understands the positive difference it can make to young people. There aren’t many other clubs available at the school so it’s great that gardening is there for them thanks to him.”
