About Stanford in the Vale CE Primary School

The team of young gardeners at Stanford in the Vale love to garden for both the school and their community. Together they have enhanced the raised beds that welcome people to the village, adopted an area of a derelict play park and turned it into a vibrant area of interest for wildlife, and planted up flowerpots for the elderly residents of the local care home. They love being outdoors and are always willing to support and learn from each other.

Judges' comments

“Stanford in the Vale CE Primary School have achieved so much through gardening. You can tell that a lot of what they do is student led, which is great to see in a primary school. They really held their own as a finalist against three secondary schools.”
