The Creative Gardener: Nurturing Self-belief
Introducing a new growing resource developed with the Art Room at Place2Be, a leading mental health charity for children.
19 April 2022
Bringing together the power of art and growing, we're delighted to share our newest resource: The Creative Gardener. Developed in collaboration with the Art Room at Place2Be, a leading children's mental health charity, this activity focuses on nurturing children's self-belief through growing their own pea shoots.
We know that gardening helps children to develop their ability to care for, and positively impact the world around them. From even the smallest shoots, responsibility, compassion and possibilities can grow. Split into three stages, The Creative Gardener explores the sensory elements of plants and encourages reflection through mindful activities. At the end of the project, we hope children will have a mini harvest of pea shoots they can be proud of.
