Updated 18 March 2020

To all of our members, followers and fellow gardeners,

Health and wellbeing is very important to us at the RHS and following the Government's latest update and the ongoing situation with COVID-19, we want to update you on what this means for the Campaign for School Gardening.

As this situation is changing daily, we are following the UK Government advice and NHS guidelines.

New members
If you have recently signed up to the Campaign, unfortunately your welcome pack will be delayed as we are suspending postal deliveries until the summer. However, you can still download our resources online to help you plan your garden or to help you find things to keep you occupied and feeling happy if you are having to spend time at home.

Training courses
We have cancelled all training courses for the foreseeable future. We will be running courses again, hopefully from September, but please check back on our website at a later date for an update.

If you have already paid for one of our courses, you will be contacted soon and will be issued a full refund. If you have any questions about training courses, you can contact the team at cpd@rhs.org.uk.

Grow Social
We recommend that all groups planning to take part in Grow Social postpone their events until later in the year. If you signed up to this campaign, you will receive a more detailed email about this soon.

School Gardening Awards
If you have recently submitted evidence for the next level of our School Gardening Awards scheme, we are sorry to let you know that we won't be able to deliver your rewards until later in the year as we have suspended postal deliveries, but we will keep you on the list ready to receive them ;later in the year.

School Gardeners of the Year competition
We feel it is important to look for the positives at the moment so our competition will still be continuing for this year, just in a slightly different form. Thank you to all those who have submitted nominations - we will be back in touch soon to let you know whether or not your nomination has been shortlisted.

Design a Secret Garden
Despite the movie release date being pushed back to later this year, the Secret Garden competition remains open and could even be a great activity for children and young people to do at home. If you applied for one of our Primary School packs, these will now be posted later in the year.

What's next?
Our team is working on putting together some resources and fun ideas to keep everyone entertained at home and help everyone feel a bit better through the power of plants. Watch this space...

Apologies if you have tried to contact us by phone recently. We are temporarily unable to answer it as the team are now working from home We are working to resolve this and hope to be able to update you soon.

In the meantime, do keep in touch with us on FacebookTwitter or via email at schoolgardening@rhs.org.uk.

Please take care and check in with those in need.

Best wishes,
The RHS Campaign for School Gardening and Communities Teams
