Terms & Conditions – RHS School Gardening Team of the Year
Everyone in the nominated team must be 18 years of age or less on 31 August 2023. If you are nominating pupils from a SEND school the upper age limit is 25.
Everyone in the nominated team must attend a school registered to the
RHS Campaign for School Gardening
that is within the UK (England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland). If your school is not currently registered, you can

Nominations will only be accepted on an RHS School Gardening Team of the Year online

, completed by a responsible adult aged 18 years and over, here after termed ‘The Proposer’.
The Proposer must be an appointed representative of a school. For example a teacher, teaching assistant, member of the Senior Leadership Team, parent helper or volunteer, a school governor or member of a Parent Teacher Association.
Only one entry will be accepted per RHS School Gardening Team of the Year. In the case where two are received, only the first will be accepted.

The details provided by The Proposer will be used for the purpose of shortlisting for this competition only. By submitting a nomination The Proposer confirms that they have the permission of the parent or guardian of all young persons in the nominated team.
After the closing date, the RHS will shortlist ten teams here after termed ‘The Finalists’. Their Proposers will be notified if their nomination has been shortlisted. The RHS will seek consent from the parent or guardian for any young person’s photo/film captured as part of the shortlisting or winners process. The RHS will use these images or videos in connection with the competition across its editorial communications channels, for example publication on the RHS or RHS Campaign for School Gardening website or social media channels. The children who take part would not be identifiable by name.
By submitting a nomination, The Proposer, as a nominated representative of the school, acknowledges that they have obtained the school’s consent to its name and address being published in connection with receiving a prize and agrees to the RHS disclosing the school name and address on the RHS and Campaign for School Gardening websites and to any individual requesting the name of the recipient schools. The school also agrees to take part in any publicity as conducted by the RHS Press Office or RHS Campaign for School Gardening team.
A list of the Finalists will be posted on the RHS and/or RHS Campaign for School Gardening websites and via the Campaign for School Gardening social media channels and any other relevant channels.
Each Finalist’s school will be required to submit a film for the second stage of judging. Filming notes and guidance will be emailed to the Proposers of Finalists upon notification that their nomination has been shortlisted.
The schools of eight Finalists will receive a certificate and £200 worth of National Garden Gift Vouchers.
Two Finalists will be selected as Winners. Their Proposers will be notified and the result of the competition will be announced on the RHS Campaign for School Gardening website and via the RHS Campaign for School Gardening social media channels and any other relevant channels in early June 2023.
The Winners’ schools will receive a certificate, £500 worth of National Garden Gift Vouchers and a patio glasshouse worth £1,500. The school will also have the opportunity to be visited by a celebrity gardener to present the prizes and take part in a celebratory activity.
All decisions of the RHS are final and no correspondence regarding the Finalists or Winners can be entered into.
The prizes must be accepted as stated and cannot be altered. There will be no cash alternatives. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for their value.

to the RHS you will be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions and to have agreed to be bound by them.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The RHS reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time by publication on the RHS and/ or RHS Campaign for School Gardening websites.
The RHS School Gardeners of the Year competition is open to UK residents, excluding i) employees, agents or subcontractors of the RHS, ii) any Competition sponsor or its employees, agents or subcontractor, iii) the immediate families of such employees or sponsors.
