About the competition:

Does your school have what it takes to create an award-winning show garden for the RHS Budding Gardeners Competition 2017?

We are seeking budding garden designers to show off their love of gardening and imagination by creating and planting up a mini show garden to be displayed at RHS Garden Wisley during Summer Half Term (Saturday 27 May - Sunday 04 June).

This year, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the publication of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books, the theme is The Famous Five go on an Adventure!

We hope you will be inspired to design and plant a magnificent mini show garden around the theme of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books.

These wonderful stories feature Julian, Dick, George, Anne and Timmy the dog solving mysteries, foiling the baddies, and protecting Uncle Quentin's secret formula. Fuelled only by pockets of barley sugar and lashings of ginger beer, what a smashing time they had!

Will you choose to set sail on a pirate ship and explore hidden caves, climb through an overgrown jungle and discover a host of mysterious animals and plants, or perhaps head off on your horses to fight dragons or monsters...

Whatever your idea, in traditional Famous Five style, pull on your wellies and grow your own summer adventure!

How to enter:

This competition is currently closed. Check back in June to see the results.

Use our resource Design a Miniature Garden to get your pupils planning and designing gardens on a small scale to the theme of your choice.

This is also a great wet weather activity to do indoors or perfect if you don't have much outdoor space.
