Become an Assessor
Inspire the next generation to grow
We are currently reviewing plans for Green Plan It 2020, given the ongoing situation with COVID-19 and will update you soon. If you have any queries about becoming an assessor at a future date, drop us a line to firstname.lastname@example.org.
As an assessor you’ll have the opportunity to attend one of our Green Plan It celebration events where you will meet school teams who have taken part in the RHS 10-week Green Plan It project to design and build a model garden for their school or community.
As part of a small panel of assessors you will assess the work of approximately four teams by understanding the inspiration for their designs and the processes they went through to get to their final ideas.
As an assessor, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Share your knowledge with young people
Encourage positive social action
Network with other horticultural assessors
Feel good about making a difference
You will need to be available to attend the celebration day of your nearest Green Plan It hub in late November/early December and have small amount of time before this day to look at the reports of the designs you will be assessing (these will be sent to you).
How to get involved
You will be contacted to discuss your application
If successful, you will be invited to attend the celebration event of your nearest hub
At the Green Plan It celebration event you will meet students, assess their designs and help decide on the winners!
Up for taking part?
Assessors will have worked in or have experience of horticulture or a related industry e.g. landscape architecture, garden design, green space management and maintenance, gardener roles and garden retail.
Experience of working with schools or young people is not essential but you should have a passion for plants and a desire to share your interest with young people.
